Good morning, all!

I hope this message finds you well in the middle of this crazy week! As I mentioned in my last mass email, I wanted to start a newsletter that will be shared monthly through this email-medium, giving you all more candid updates on the business; providing information from the IRS that would be critical for individuals as we file our income taxes; and any sort of detail related to finance that I think would be interesting. So, thank YOU for signing up for this. I hope this serves as a catalyst for conversation between us.

Thank You for Your Referrals

First, I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate the referrals that the business has received from everyone here. Thank you all for referencing me to your peers as we approach tax season. With the good testimonials you all have shared, we have been receiving calls day-in and day-out, receiving requests for our services. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! You all are the backbone that have made this company start on the right foot.

For Our Individual Income Tax Preparers

For those who have reached out to me for help on their Individual Income Taxes & Business taxes, be on the lookout for an email from either Joshua Steinfels or myself to schedule a 1-on-1, free consultation, to go over your taxes for this year. This consultation will ensure that we have everything we need to prepare your taxes in addition to giving you transparency over the status of your return and when it’ll be filed. Please email me at Kevin@lipuma.cpa with any questions!

Meet the Partner: Joshua Steinfels

For many of you who may not know, there is a second half of the company that assists in running the tax side of the business. Joshua Steinfels is a dear friend of mine from Marquette University, my alma mater, who seemed to be the perfect fit to truly make this company thrive after many years of us sitting in Raynor Library through our days in college. Joshua is an absolute tax genius, and I’m happy that I can share and leverage his expertise to allow us to provide exceptional service to you all. Here are a few questions I have prepared Joshua to give you all a more deeper look into what he is like:

  1. Tell us about yourself

I met Kevin back at Marquette University where we studied accounting together and took several accounting and tax specific classes together. Since graduating, I have worked at a family office preparing tax returns for S-corps, LLC's, trusts, and individuals across dozens of tax jurisdictions. Recently, I started law school at Loyola University where I am studying corporate transactional law with a focus on the tax implications. I am expecting to graduate in May of 2026.

  1. What inspired you to get into tax and what is your plan to be a catalyst for change in the industry?

I originally went into Marquette University as an undecided business major planning to go to law school. I pursued accounting after being encouraged by the introductory accounting professors. When I started taking tax classes, I found that the material was interesting and just made sense to me. Since then, I have enjoyed not just doing tax preparation work, but also helping people to understand their own financial and tax situations so that they can thrive. Taxes don't need to be scary or painful and can be the edge that help you or your business get ahead.

  1. What value do you hope to bring to clients?

I really want the clients to understand what is going on. In tax preparation and compliance, there can be a lot of moving parts. Understanding the reasoning behind decisions and their tax implications can help everyone make more economical decisions. Always remember, tax evasion is illegal, but tax avoidance is expected.

  1. Anything additional you want people to know

The tax deadline might seem far away, but it is always fast approaching. You don't need to (and shouldn't) wait to start your tax planning. This is not only for this past tax year. You will be better off looking forward to next year and the future generally, as well.

To reach Joshua, please contact him at Joshua@Lipuma.cpa. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you all again for your continued support and business! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Happy Tax Season -

Kevin
